Salary: $51,600 upon completing the academy.

Requirements for Applicants

Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

Age: At least 20 and 1/2 years of age.
Education: Possession of an Associates degree or higher in Fire Protection Technology, Fire Investigation, Criminal Justice or related field.
Driver’s License: Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or canceled, or disqualified from driving).

Age: At least 20 and 1/2 years of age.
Education: Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Knowledge of conducting investigations which includes conducting interviews to obtain confidential information, gathering evidence and documenting findings.
Experience: Knowledge of interpreting national and local building and fire codes.
Experience: Knowledge of reviewing and approving site plans, building plans, fire protection system plans and mechanical plans.
Experience: Knowledge of narrative report writing.

Driver’s License:Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or canceled, or disqualified from driving).
